Clint Bartlett lives in Sylva, NC and is primarily a bass fisherman, but likes to explore other species of fish when I get the chance. He’s also a videographer and works to produce outdoor video content that highlights the action behind getting out on the water. He love creating films that tell a story and show the true beauty of experiences outdoors. He grew up outside of Charlotte, NC and fished since he was in diapers.

Clint first started playing with video content when he got a GoPro his freshman year of college. He used it to capture his fishing trips with his buddies and create short videos to upload to YouTube. This evolved into getting more camera gear and upgrading the quality of the content he was producing. He has been in the industry for four years and has loved being able to focus entirely on outdoor fishing content. He has been able to film with anglers across the country, enjoyed meeting new people and looks forward to building relationships with others in the industry. The biggest reason he has stayed in the industry is because he has always been told to “do what you love, and you will find a way to make money doing it.” This has been his motivator through life and has inspired him to chase his dreams filming in the fishing industry.

Q: How did you get into bass fishing?

A: My dad introduced me to bass fishing when I was really young and I always enjoyed going out on the boat with him. It was an excuse to get me outside, and once I caught my first bass I was hooked.

Q: What does the water mean to you?

A: The water is something that is beautiful but mysterious. I have always enjoyed being on or near water, but I really value the mystery of what lies underneath the surface. I find it interesting how much there is left to explore and what species may still be lying in the depths of the oceans.

Q: What was your all-time favorite day on the water?

A: My all-time favorite day on the water is the next one! I have had some amazing experiences on the water, but I look forward to my next adventure more than anything. I tried to think of one that would be worth writing about, but I know that the one I value the most is the next chance I get to be on the lake.

Q: How important are your sunglasses in your sport?

A: Sunglasses are huge in bass fishing, especially in the Spring months. When bass push up shallow, seeing them is key. You can find bass that others can’t and take advantage of a bass by seeing them before they see you.

Q: What are your go-to shades and why?

A: My go-to shades are the Costa Del Mar Fantails with the 180G glass. This pair of sunglasses is incredible for seeing bass up shallow, even in stained water conditions.

Q: Have you ever lost your sunglasses on the water?

A: I have dropped and recovered several sunglasses in my past experience on the water. I was always willing to dive back in to retrieve them knowing their value for bass fishing. I have had to replace a few that I had dropped in the winter months, where diving in after them is not an option.

Q: How have our floating keepers be performing in the field?

A: The floating keepers have been great! I have had one experience so far where they really came in handy. I was fishing on a cold and windy day out of my kayak. A large wind gust came through and I flipped my kayak. Rods, tackle, and gear all went into the lake. However, my sunglasses were floating right next to me as soon as I surfaced. I am glad that I had the keepers on my sunglasses that saved me from buying another pair.

Q: What stands out about our keepers?

A: I like the colors and designs on these keepers. It is sleek and neutral, which is much better than the bright floating keepers I have used in the past. Cheap foam keepers were just too much for me to wear that I would rather risk my sunglasses dropping to the bottom of the lake instead of wearing them. These keepers are light and easy on the eyes.

Q: What’s going in in your world at the moment, and what does the future have in store?

A: I am graduating with my Bachelors in Entrepreneurship and Marketing from Western Carolina University in May of 2020. I plan to do videography full-time for companies in the southeast. I have been working with some amazing brands that have allowed me to travel and create fishing content across the country. I hope to keep these relationships as I build my portfolio and master the art of storytelling through a camera lens.
