about FlyLab Supply Co.

FlyLab Supply Co. is Chris Perot & Devin Kanady. We’re just some homies who work too much, fish too much, and think about night fishing that sketchy hobo-ditch behind the hibachi joint, way too much.

We’re based on the coast in Charleston, SC but hail from warm water hoods originally. Devin from East Tennessee, and Chris from upstate SC - guess you could say Panfish & Largemouth fishing as kids; set the wheel in motion for what would be FlyLab some 20+ years Later.

WHY DO YOU TIE?

Well, we’re both the type to celebrate the fine details, obsess over doing shit the hard way and sharing what we’ve learned with both those new to fly fishing, and the seasoned veterans who already know the drill. We fish what we tie, and we stand behind our flies.

Today, we tie flies for anybody who likes to dangle the occasional gamefish, or even the more “unorthodox” toothy predators lurking in a frogwater swamp near them. Don’t be surprised to see collaborations like these, sick tees, events, and more from FlyLab in the future. Until then, stay in the loop with what’s new in the lab on our Instagram profile.

what’s on your fly caddy?

We’ve been throwing our Black Gotcha OG for just about every scenario. The Mud Bunny is a dangerous slider for all spectrums of the tide, but excels in the grass. For warm water, a light-colored suspending bait fish does well for fishing those midday ledges, but this time of year we are all about that early morning, or evening bite on top water. The Double Barrel Popper with a good weed guard is great to make sure you can really bang tight weed line and submerged timber. All of our flies are pretty much transferable from salt to warm water depending on your situation. The action of the mix of synthetic and natural materials on the Crustacean77 is hypnotizing for most any predatory fish.
